About Cresternal
Emma in Sweden.
My name is Sunneva Birgisdóttir and I live in Iceland with my dogs. It was really hard finding the right dog, breeder and pedigree. Not all breeders are willing to send pups to Iceland so I'm really glad that I now have my Emma girl. :)
Since 2007 I have been trying to learn as much as I can about this breed and I love the fact that there is always more to learn. I remember when I should have been study for school but in fact I was learning about dogs. I have always loved animals, especially dogs. Ever since I was 8 years old I went to the library in my school to look at dog books and also cat and horse books. I loved looking at all those different breeds. Then I mostly just knew mixed dogs from Border Collies and Labradors and of course also the Icelandic Sheepdog. I remember when I first saw a Chinese Crested with my own eyes. It was in 2007 and my heart melted! When I got home I started learning about this wonderful breed right away. I haven't stopped since and I'm still learning. :)
I had been looking for my first Crested dog for a long time before I found my girl, "Emma", Lisar's Having Fun. I'm so happy that this lovely girl came to me all the way from Sweden, thank you Lisa at Lisar's Cresteds for this wonderful girl! My second Crested was Nikar (Zhen's Victorious Viking in Iceland), co-owned with Kiddý (Dare to be), a wonderful puff boy with a temperament, face and coat to die for! I can't thank Carol and Kerri (Zhen) enough for our boy.
The kennel name Cresternal comes from the word Crested and Eternal, as I hope this wonderful breed will live on and have a good, healthy future and that my future bloodline will be eternal in the breed. :)
To me, health is number 1,2 and 3. Healthy body and mind. I want my dogs to have a good and happy personalities that make good family members.
Pups from me will only go to approved and lovely homes where they will be a part of the family and family activities.
I wish to pay close attention to each pup in the future.
"I am a breeder. I spend a lifetime learning pedigrees, going over dogs, talking and learning from those in my breed and those outside it. I raise each litter as if I gave birth to them and spend an equal amount of time finding them loving forever homes. I only put puppies on this planet that I think will be the healthiest (mentally and physically) and nicest examples of their breed. I support each family who choses one of my puppies and let them know they are now a part of our extended family. I am there if one needs to come back and will aggressively pursue the return of one of my dogs if its in the wrong place. I support my breed in rescue and education. I hold them when they arrive and leave this world, not only my own, but my brethren in the fancy. I share my knowledge and socialize my dogs so that they will be the advertisement for my dedication. I don't keep track of the money and time I put in to my love of dogs, it would not be true measure of how I feel. I support my friends in the fancy, because it takes a village sometimes and only WE know how things are for us. The price I charge for my puppies is never profit, but investment in the next generation. I will not be ashamed of who I am, I work hard at being a good dog person and encouraging others to be the same. I am a breeder and I am proud of it.
If we don't support each other - we are doomed as a fancy."
